I started Pilates 13 years ago when it started to become apparent that years and years of trying to make myself shorter (at nearly 6 foot) was starting to take its toll on my body. Despite the 10 years of ballet, I was a chronic ‘sloucher’ and my daily tension headaches were becoming an issue.

I tried one Pilates mat work class arriving with my usual headache and I walked out feeling noticeably lighter, taller and headache free!

Needless to say, it didn’t take me long to be a total convert. I spent the rest of that year attending as many classes as I could afford and working out a way to bring pilates into my life, for life!

HEY THERE, I’M GEORGIE

My training.

I completed my first classical mat work certificate with Power Pilates at Pi Studio London under the watchful eye of Holly Murray in 2010, and then enrolled onto the fully comprehensive programme (again through Power Pilates and Holly Murray) in 2011, completing the gruelling 600hour training in summer 2012. I have continued to broaden my learning with Holly Murray as well as Shari Berkowitz, Brooke Siler and Carolyne Anthony.

In 2018 I completed my 200hr yoga training with Yoga Medicine and absolutely love the way it compliments (and contradicts!) Pilates. It encourages me to think out of the box to create the best movement experience possible for all my students.

Here I am, over 10 years later, still teaching, still learning and still loving the endless wonders of the human body (and mind!). And after living and teaching pilates between London, Surrey, the Cote d’Azur, North Devon and The French Alps for over 7 years, my husband and I have finally decided to call Morzine in the French Alps our home.

I teach a fun and dynamic flow guaranteed to make you feel strong, long and lean from wherever your starting point is in your pilates journey.

“Scheduling one-to-one Pilates classes with Georgina was one of the best decisions I’ve made! Although I hadn’t done much exercise in a long time, and I was afraid I wouldn’t be up to it, my first class with her in the studio a few years ago was a pleasure and left me feeling better in my body immediately afterwards. More recently, during the lockdown, I started regular one-to-one classes with Georgina online: each class is truly a jewel in my week. Her perfect mixture of gentle encouragement and careful attention have given me new strength, as well as confidence and ease in my body. What’s more, thanks to Georgina, what I thought was chronic tendonitis in an injured shoulder has gone away!”
